Background
PRME Chapter Africa was initiated in 2021 and the first full 3 year term Chapter Steering Committee was appointed in June 2022 following a rigorous application process of all communicating PRME signatories in Africa. The Chapter is led by a nine-member Chapter Steering Committee (CSC).
As at July 2023, the Chapter has 24 communicating members in 8 African countries, including Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, and South Africa.
We have welcomed 6 new signatories to PRME Chapter Africa in the first half of 2023 and there is considerable scope for Chapter growth to develop the PRME values, engagement, and activities across Africa. The CSC looks forward to welcoming more signatories over the coming months.
The CSC organises an online orientation workshop for all new signatories, and the first of these was held in July 2023.
Vision
The Africa Chapter is committed to provide PRME regional signatories with a forum to advance the Principles for Responsible Management Education, discuss issues of mutual interest and concern, as well as share and develop good practice and innovative approaches in Responsible Management Education.
Values
The Chapter is guided by the six PRME principles and is committed to working collaboratively together and with colleagues in other chapters as advocates of responsible management education. The committee also pledges to help others pursue the PRME ambition of integrating the SDGs into business school strategy, including teaching, research, partnerships and organisational practices.
