Background
The established PRME DACH Chapter, consisting of PRME signatories in German-speaking countries (Germany-Austria-Switzerland), was officially launched at the Conference on Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, at MCI Management Center Innsbruck in February 2014, after two years of preparation.
Currently, more than 60 higher education institutions are part of the DACH Chapter, and many of them play an active role in the network.
Vision
The DACH Chapter is highly committed to provide PRME regional signatories with a forum to advance the Principles for Responsible Management Education, discuss issues of mutual interest and concern, as well as share and develop good practice and innovative approaches in Responsible Management Education (major key objective of the PRME Regional DACH Chapter). The PRME principles are at the core of the work of the PRME Chapter DACH, while the chapter is also shifting its focus to integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in research, teaching and outreach activities of its members and of the Chapter as a collective.
Values
PRME Chapter DACH signatories strive to create an engaging and secure space for exchange and collaboration, foster trust and connection with each other, actively engage in debate, are committed to joint progress as well as to innovation, new and critical thinking, disruptive processes and toward fostering sustainability learning and processes as a whole.
Mission
The mission of the Chapter is to provide thought and action leadership on the future of corporations and of responsible management education in the context of the UN sustainable development agenda.

Responsible Management Education with Impact: A Blueprint for Transformative Leadership Beyond 2030
Editors: Alexander Herzner, Ruth Areli García-León & Lisa Fröhlich
Submission deadline for proposals: 1st May 2024
Publisher: Routledge
Purpose and context:
You are invited to contribute to a book aimed at inspiring and empowering educators, administrators, policymakers, institutions, industry professionals and leaders interested in fostering positive change and supporting a sustainable transformation of society, environment, and business.
After more than a decade in responsible management education (The PRME Global Movement 2021), the era of corporate responsibility and sustainable practices is still a paramount concern with the climate crisis remaining omnipresent. In the last years, responsible and ethical behavior has been challenged not only by a global pandemic but also by wars occurring worldwide. All these issues have led us to question if current leaders are acting responsibly and ethically integer and what is and has been the impact of responsible management education (RME) practices in the former and present years.
Therefore, the envisioned book aims to explore the intersection of RME and responsible leadership in addressing the Sustainable Development Goals. It adopts the concept of ‘transformative leadership’ (Bass & Riggio, 2005), as the leadership that seeks to transform by inspiring and empowering others as a way to advance RME. With this in mind, this book seeks to serve as an inspiration by providing insights, strategies, case studies, and real outcomes in order to serve as a comprehensive guide for RME and leadership.
