A Final Message from Morsing

Dear PRME Community,

After three years and four months as Head of PRME, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you around the world. I am immensely proud of what we achieved together over such a relatively short period of time.

It has been an incredible privilege and honor to provide leadership to the PRME community during an exciting and challenging period of strategic development, economic opportunities, and a call for global growth.

We know the world is in urgent need of economic, environmental and social governance! And we know that education at all levels is proven to be the most important mechanism to create the world that we want (Sachs, et al., 2019).

I am in awe of the dedication I have seen in the PRME community to shaping the future of responsible management education and creating a positive impact on our world.

I know we are not there yet. But the global need for PRME to inspire a much more SDG-oriented leadership education to direct business is clear: 1 in 3 of the world's students graduating from higher education institutions every year (= 33%) are granted a degree in management, business, law and economics (UNESCO). That is significantly 70 million students each year who come out of our management schools to work primarily for business to make those decisions that will decide the direction of our globe!

If you want to change business, you want to change how business is taught.

As I step down from my role, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude for your support, your dedication, your trust, and your unwavering belief in the principles that PRME stands for. And I have every confidence that under the new leadership, the PRME Community will continue to thrive, innovate, and lead the way in shaping responsible management education for generations to come.

I am excited to see the journey that lies ahead for PRME. I will do my best to support the journey from my new position as Professor and Director of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at Oxford University.

With heartfelt gratitude and warmest regards,

Mette
